If you suspect that a child is being abused or neglected, call the DCF child protection hotline to report it: 1-800-649-5285 — 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Your voice may be the only one speaking on their behalf. They deserve your courage to call.

Accepted reports that meet SIU criteria will be referred to Safe Place for collaborative investigation.

Reporting abuse is hard. We understand that only 33% of children ever tell - including as they get older. If you have endured abuse recently (or at any time in the past) and would like the opportunity to talk about it, please feel free to fill out the form below. Once received, Safe Place staff will reach out to you through your preferred method of contact to explain your options and answer any questions you may have about the process.

​Keep in mind, choosing to talk about your experience, does not mean you need to proceed with a full investigation. You may circle back to it any time you feel ready or able to handle it. Once the interview is done, it can be saved by the police or DCF indefinitely. This is also true for medical exams (kits can be saved, evidence can be preserved).
